We begin with a thorough inspection at which time we familiarize ourselves with the scope of work to be completed. After inspection of the work, a written proposal is provided to ensure exact cost. Phillips Painting endeavors to provide the highest quality at the best possible prices.

Preparation work begins with a thorough power wash of the house using a high pressure cleaning system. Following the wash, a nail down of loose boards and trim is done, and new nails will be used when necessary to ensure maximum results. If any lumber needs to be replaced, Phillips Painting handles it and it is included in the proposal if noted specifically. Next, all surfaces which have peeling paint remaining after the wash will be hand scraped, sanded, and primed with a penetrating oil primer to provide a sound bonding surface. Rust, bare wood, bare metal, mildew, wax bleed, sap bleed, stains, and window lintels are also primed. Then, all cracks, joints, seams, and windows will be sealed using a premium quality sealant to weatherize seals and enhance the cosmetic appearance of your home. The following day (weather permitting) we begin masking the windows, brick, roof, fixtures, and pool as well as covering all landscape to protect from paint drips or spray. Finally, actual painting begins after all preparations have been completed. Any rough and porous surfaces will receive a heavy spray coat followed by a additional coat, commonly referred to as back-rolling.

Paint colors can be matched or selected from a wide variety of samples. Phillips Painting uses only high quality coatings.

In addition to exterior painting, we stain and seal decks and fences. A complete job consists of bleaching as necessary, power washing, and applying a top quality stain sealer. Most companies use wax based products that wear off after six months instead of oil based products that last several years.

    • Decks and Fences

Whether your fence or deck is brand new and simply needs some color and protection from the elements or is showing signs of age, we can make it look great.

We only use top line oil based stains. Not all stains are equal. It is very important to use a tried and true stain that will protect your wood for more than a few months.  When we come out to look at your project, your service advisor will know just what stain to specifiy for the existing conditions.

Every interior paint job begins with an inspection. Preparation work consists of removing all switch plates, vents, and filling all nail holes. Flooring and furniture are thoroughly masked for protection. All cracks along door jambs, baseboards, etc. will be sealed and major wall cracks will be repaired by taping and bedding if specifically noted on the proposal. Our trained personnel are experts in matching any wall texture. Any stains will be sealed with a primer prior to paint application.

If the painted woodwork needs to be repainted, we begin by lightly sanding, cleaning with lacquer thinner, priming as necessary, filling joints with a premium sealant, and follow by finish coating with an oil base enamel. It is important to note that Phillips Painting sprays doors, cabinets, and paneling when feasible to provide a professional finish where other painters brush and leave drips and lines. Some customers are concerned about spray painting inside the home. Since all flooring, wallpaper, and furnishings are sealed by masking, spraying poses no risk of over spray. After paint is dry, all masking is then rolled up and removed from the job. If the painter does proper masking and preparation, spraying leaves the cleanest job with the most professional finish.

      Painting Stained Cabinets and Paneling
We are experts at painting stained cabinets and paneling. We clean, sand, apply sealant, prime with two coats of top quality primer, and finish with two coats of oil enamel. Each coat of primer and paint is sprayed to provide a professional finish. Many companies only apply a total of two coats instead of four, and very few are capable of spraying.
