Finding Your Painter in the DFW
In finding the perfect painter to paint your home in the DFW area, there are quite a few things you need to take in to account:
1. Is this a Better Business Bureau company with an A+ Rating?
-This is a very important piece to the puzzle. With the BBB, you have the company at your fingertips. This is a very free resource that consumers need to utilize. Consumers can get the full report on the number of complaints against the company as well as if the company has resolved these complaints
2. How long has the company been around?
- A minimum of 10 years for a qualified painting company. If the company in question is a new company, make sure you ask for picture samples of their work, to assure quality and put your mind at ease
3. Will they be around long enough to back up their warranty?
- I hate to say it, but if the painter you are going to higher has only been in business for a year, they probably are not your safest bet. You need to ask for a list of references to find out what the quality of work would be and the time fram in which it will be completed.
4. What are other people saying about this company?
-There are many helpful resources to find out what people are saying.
Yelp.com and Angieslist.com are two valuable tools in the consumers arsenal. There is no better way to find out how a company operates and how well a company backs up its warranty.
5. Does this company use the highest quality materials to complete the work needed?
- You need to know who has the best paints available. Typically the estimator on the job should have a vast knowledge of the paints used by the company you are getting an estimate from. If the company doesn’t believe in what they are selling, you shouldn’t believe in what they are selling either.
6. Is this a local company?
-This step often gets overlooked. You need to make sure that the company you are dealing with is local and not a huge franchise or someone working from a P.O. Box or out of their home. The easiest way to find this out would be to use Google maps as a valuable resource. Plug in the address and see where their location is. There needs to be a store front with active team members who answer phones and can schedule you an appointment right then and there.
This list here will provide you with a very simple litmus test to help you (the consumer) make an educated decision when it comes to any painting home improvement project.
