Knockdown Texture

Knockdown Texture is a texture that is very common in Dallas Forth Worth homes and has been done by the Phillips Painting team for the last 14 years.

It is a texture that is made with a compound called “joint compound” (watered down) and it is sprayed to the walls in a thick single coat. This texture is set to dry for about 20 to 30 minutes and then with a hand trowel is pulled down to create the final look.

Knockdown texturing a ceiling after popcorn ceiling has been removed is a simple way to bring a complete fresh look to a room in your home that needs that extra something to make it stand out.  With this texture you can use any sheen paint you desire and the texture will still have a good clean look to it and carry a varying depth of color.

Dallas Home builders have built a majority of homes to have knockdown texture as a normal wall finish in a lot of new and older DFW homes.
